# How Do I View and Upload Medical Files?

To view or upload medical files, an encounter between a patient and a doctor must exist.

### Step 1

Go to the patient portal by clicking the four boxes icon on the upper right corner of the screen beside the profile icon.

### Step 2

Choose a **profile** which has a booked appointment.

|| Note: If you have not made additional profiles under your SeeYouDoc account, you will only be able to select your own profile.

### Step 3

Click **"Encounters"** from the sidebar.

### Step 4

Select the relevant encounter from the **list of encounters**.

### Step 5

Click the **"Medical"** tab.

### Step 6

Click **"Medical Files"**.

### Step 7

To upload a medical file, click **"Upload File"**.

### Step 8

Click **"Upload file"** in the middle of the medical files modal.

|| Note: File size must be less than **10MB** and should be in **JPG, PNG, DOCX,** or **PDF format**.

### Step 9

Once you have selected a file to upload, click **"Save"**.

### Step 10

You may also **view medical files uploaded by a doctor or a clinic user** through the medical files portion of the medical tab.

|| Note: you may only delete medical files that you have uploaded. **You cannot delete files uploaded by a doctor or a clinic user**.
